Not Another Police Procedural Novel
The Books in Question:

Violent Echoes and Deep Water is a two-part series by PJ Mouchet. They could be read as standalone and do not require for you to read book one to understand book two.
A Breath of Fresh Air
I cannot tell you enough that I thought police procedural novels where just another regurgitated popular television. While I love the banter between Penelope Garcia and Derek Morgan from Criminal Minds…can we please not sprinkle “author originality” with a popular television show.
In both Violent Echoes and Deep Water the author PJ Mouchet writes about the town that inspired the scenery within the novels. Painting not just the background, he gives character to the streets and the people who walk among them.
Brooks and Banks and their Respective K9 Partners
Agent Jackson Brooks with K9 Ruby and Agent Willow Banks with K9 Ranger are multifaceted characters. Thoroughly thought-out characters within their respective stories to solve the major crime in which brings them together. Even though a reader can enjoy the books separately, I recommend reading both Violent Echoes and Deep Water for full submersion within the stories. PJ Mouchet does a great job referring to events previously and builds upon them.
Overall
If a reader wants an original story without a cookie cutter experience of police procedurals. Violent Echoes and Deep Water by PJ Mouchet may be the book for them. It was a wonderfully woven story that tugged at my emotions. I highly recommend checking out the author PJ Mouchet. I am here and all for an additional story of Brooks and Banks.
Legal Note: These thoughts are my own and are freely given exchange for an Advanced Readers Copy of the books. Thank you, Book Sirens and PJ Mouchet, for the opportunity to read theses novels.
