Adventures in Boerne, Texas. I Came for a Book.
It’s Bur-ney not Born. For those not familiar with the pronunciation of the town of Boerne, Texas.
What Called Us to Boerne?
A small book shop called The Boerne Bookshop Author Book Signing event.
Why?
Mark A. Daniel. My book groups had mentioned an authors book signing and I was like “wait…is that the Black Mass book author?” The answer yes. I told my partner I need to make sure the cars AC would hold going cross country and he told me I didn’t need the excuse to go the book signing. I could just go. (Insert laughter…because I thought it was HILAROUS.) But seriously…I don’t need my AC going out in my car and not having a reliable and reputable mechanic to fix the problem. This solved a problem and had an enjoyable end point. I do not like driving without a destination in mind.

To Boerne…We Go!
We drove from San Antonio through Hill Country on route 211 and 46 to reach the city of Boerne, Texas. I do wish that they had pull offs so I could have taken a photograph of the route. Hill Country is beautiful and does make my stomach churn. Knowing absolutely nothing about Boerne, prior to talking with author Susan Thomas. We were introduced to what seemed like a small town in the middle of nowhere in Texas. They had a H.E.B. a few chain stores and restaurants off of a quaint main street. It was adorable full of small shops, breweries, art galleries and antiques stores.
Maps and Magazines we grabbed from Main Street and Richter Cork and Keg.
We Came For Books!
Just one book really, I budgeted the trip and my one book purchase in my budget plans for the month. As much as I would love to buy all the books I can’t and we are moving. Seriously, I don’t want my books being ruined. I do not trust the packers or the movers. I took tons of photos, asked a lot of questions and enjoyed strolling main street with my daughter.
The Boerne Book Shop
It is right next door to Richter Bakhaus..where the cinnamon rolls are huge! There is also a bathroom next door not labeled bathroom until you go inside. Gorgeous inside, it had a great variety of books, book themed items, and a train table for the kids to play with.
