If you read my previous blog posts Adventures in Boerne, Texas. I Came for a Book and Meet the Authors at Author Alley in Boerne, Texas. May 10, 2025. I am a fan of the author Mark A. Daniel. What started as a random “ooo…that looks interesting” had me driving to the next town over to meet the author behind the witch series called Black Mass.
Louisiana, witches and cults…oh my. My signed copy survived the move…but not the safe space to which not to lose the coveted (my precious) signed copy.
A woman in a glass coffin, a new cult rising in the small town of Piney Woods Texas, and dead livestock. The story follows Carrie and Jack trying to discover the truth. Find out what is going on in Resurrection.
Some people get the birds and the bees talk. Not Emmy. Emmy gets “the talk” about becoming a witch by her grandmother. Follow her journey in another small town in West Texas. (The author is from Texas…y’all…a joke. But in all seriousness, I haven’t said y’all in a while since leaving Texas)
What’s Next?
Emmy is now sixteen years old having to deal with a haunted house with a body count. At least she isn’t alone with her familiar Patch and her coven. This novel can be read as a stand-alone or after Resolution: Emmy’s Story. If you are in the mood for something witch-y and a haunted house. Check out Crossroads.

I was an Advanced Reader for Savannah (and Crossroads). I felt like I had read an epic side quest from a novel. We learn about the character Savannah in Crossroads. This self-titled book explores the character. It is full of Southern charm and sass. I absolutely loved it. If you like to know if Patch makes an appearance…he does.
Convergence Releases December 13, 2025
